Question:
My dad's 16 foot 1973 fiberglass sailboat has a pulley/wheel which
winches up the centerboard. The wheel which the cables wraps around
broke and I need a new one. It is about 5-6" in dia X 1 3/4" wide with 6
spokes and mounts on a 3/4" shaft. It is made from aluminum and has
wright aluminum co. limited stamped on it. Made in Canada. I did a
search for that company but couldn't find anything. Anyone know where I
might find a replacement.
Answer:
This is almost certainly a one-design sailboat. Do you know the
name of the class (e.g. Albacore, Flying Scot, etc.) or can you
provide some information from the builder's plate? There are
lots of web sites for individual classes around that might be
able to help you if you can identify this information.
