Question:
Does anyone have any knowledge, wisdom, etc about the Ranger brand of bass
boat? My neighbor has a 1976 Ranger Bass Masters Classic that he picked up in
trade for some work and he wants to get rid of it. The weather has trashed it
(needs new carpeting, upholstery, paint needs to be buffed out), but it looks
as if all stuff is present. It is powered by a 115 Johnson with tilt/trim.
Anyone have this boat or know someone who does?
Answer:
I live right next door to the Ranger factory [Flippin, Arkansas] and the whole
county is flooded with them! They still bring higher prices than anything else
around and seem to last forever. The factory still supports them with parts,
manuals and even repairs, so they never get "obsolete".
The '76s with trailer and motor in average condition bring 3600 to 4000 around
here.
