Question:
I'm going to buy a pontoon "patio" boat. I've shopped every make and
model in northern California, and I've decided on Fisher. I looked at
Tracker's Party Barge, but the quality wasn't there, and they weren't
much cheaper.
Any opinions on Fisher's pontoon boats? I probably will go for the 20'
model, with a 40hp Merc oil injection.
Any and all comments are welcome. Please e-mail me, cuz I might miss your
post in thiswebsite. I'm taking the plunge in the next week or two.

I don't know anything about the Fisher boats. I just bought a Sun Dancer
20' about a month ago and have been real happy with it so far. I did put
a 90 hp on it. A 40 is going to be OK if you don't get out in any wind.
I live in Oklahoma where the wind blows all the time and was just not
comfortable with a 40 or 50. Mine will do about 27 to 28 mph at WOT. This
lets me cruise at 20 without pushing the motor at all. I also put a
trolling motor with 41 lbs thrust on the front. It works very well, even
in moderate winds. Just remember when you buy your anchor that a pontoon
boat has a lot of area and the wind will really move it around.
