Question:
I am considering changing boats. I am interested in either a deck boat
(Hurricane 226RE) or a 24' pontoon. Most of my boating is on small lakes and
rivers but on occasion I would trailer the boat to larger bodies of water such
as Seneca or Cayuga lakes in New York state.
As Seneca tends to get choppy in the afternoon hours, I am worried about a
pontoon boat handling choppy water. My Pontoon boat experience has been limited
to a 1 hour rental on a river with glass like conditions.
pontoon boats in choppy water?
Answer:
They are wonderful boats! They are not designed for speed but are
excellent for relaxing and even fishing. BTW, I had my 20' pontoon out
last weekend and my 60 year old father actually skiied behind it!
