Question:
Charters in Fort Pierce, FL?
I will be in Fort Pierce, Florida from March 21-29 and would like to try my
hand at salt water fishing. I'm pretty much a novice (as are the friends that
I'll be with) and would appreciate any info concerning the area. Can anybody
recommend a specific captain or charter boat? How much does a full or half day
charter usually cost for four or five people? What kind of fish might be
catchable at that time of year? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Answer:
- If you're interested in doing some serious offshore bottom fishing, you can't
beat Captain Ron Rincones. He runs a 28 footer out of Sebastian Inlet (about 25
miles north of Ft Pierce) and is, bar-none, one of the best bottom fishing
captains on the East Coast. As long as the weather cooperates, you can rest
assured that you will have plenty of chances at some big Grey Grouper, Warsaw
Grouper, Red Snapper, and Amberjack. I said "chances at" because he will put
you on the BIG boys. He can carry up to 6 people per charter and his fee is
$500.00 per day. You can reach him at 407-727-1036 if you're interested. Tell
him that "almost captain" Tim referred you.
