Question:
Can anyone give me any idea of the quality of Crestliner Fishing boats?
I have been looking at Lund, Sylvan, Somkercraft, Alumacraft,
PrinceCraft, Lowe, ..., you name it. But today I looked at a Crestliner
for the first time and was surprised and was wondering how good it was
before I shelled out my $$$.
Answer:
- If u plan on fishing the Great Lakes or any kind of rough water
CRESTLINER and LUND are your best choices, although LUND, in my opinion is
the best Aluminum boat out there
- I own a Crestliner fishawk, 16'8" powered with a 40 hp Yamaha and my
friend has a 16 foot Lund with a 50 Yamaha. Both are Tiller steering.
I have spent a lot of time in mine and a bit of time in his, under
rough water conditions in cold lake Huron weather.
Both have excellant hulls, with my choice for' hull only' going to
the all-welded Crestliner which really cuts the waves at any speed.
The interior finish in the Lund is far superior however, and
comfort and convenience of the fitting goes to the Lund.
If I were buying another boat tomorrow it would be a Lund first and
a Crestliner second. Also I would cheat like he did and go with the 50
Yamaha, even though the rating for both is 45hp Max. Or better yet,
get a 50 hp 4-stroke.
