Question:
We have a 22 ft Crest Pontoon boat 1997 . We don't like the design of the back
of the boat where the outboard motor sits. Anybody have any ideas on how to
change the back design so water doesn't spray the people in the back
seat!!!!!!!! Its to wide and causes to much drag in the water. Help??? How
would you add more of a point without going into great expense.
Answer:
- Check with the manufacturer. There are aften add-on kits available to
reduce spray in earlier poorly designed boats.
- IT SOUNDS AS IF YOU HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WE HAD WITH OUR 21' CREST WHEN NEW.
WE COMPLAINED TO OUR DEALER AND HE LOWERED THE MOTOR ON THE TRANSOM ONE BOLT
HOLE, THIS HELPED BUT DID NOT ELEIMINATE THE PROBLEM. WE WERE ALSO GETTING VERY
POOR PERFOMANCE FROM THE 90 HP JOHNSON MOTOR IN POWER AND FUEL MILEAGE. SO A
FRIEND AND I LOWERED THE MOTOR ALL THE WAY DOWN ON THE TRANSOM AND THERE WAS
DRAMATIC INPROVEMENT IN ALL AREAS AND THE SPRAY PROBLEM WAS ELEMINATED AS
WELL
