Bass tracker Boat

Question:
I purchased a 1997 Bass Tracker with a 40hp Mariner last year. Every since I bought the part of boat the battery has run down after it was left standing for a week or so. We traced the problem to something under the flywheel constantly pulling current. I asked the dealer here, but his response was bring it in. Everytime I go in to try to get parts they never have anything so I figure they will pull the motor down and I'll be out a boat for awhile. No thanks. I'll just disconnect the battery lead when I put it up. I also just burned out a trailer bulb, and those jerks at the factory used a tail light that has a bulb assy that won't allow you to get at the bulb. The whole system is sealed and hard wired in. Anyone have any ideas other than replacing the whole system.

Answer:
-go to www.NitroOwners.com. It's a site for Nitro and Tracker owners. Lots of info sharing about these boats. Somebody there will probably have the same rig as you and will be able to offer help on these and other topics.

-Those are probably WESBAR low-profile lights. In my opinion, they are excellent. You don't have to unhook them when launching like the cheaper "bell-jar" type lights. I would be happy to send you my address to mail those lights to if you don't want them. A replacement light capsule is about $7. I have had them on a trailer for over 4 years without a problem or replacement.

-That is the best bulb assembly you can use! Those are sealed so you *can* leave your trailer lights plugged in when you load/unload. Trust me, it's far better to replace the light units in those once in a blue moon than to have to plug/unplug the trailer lights everytime you come near water!
